HI Joan,
I am responding to your comment of last year! (I have had endless computer problems, etc.) apologies....I don't know much about gardening or horticulture so don't know why your flowers aren't coming up on the main stock. My purple-flowering raspberries are threatening to take over my entire yard. Haven't actually seen them yet this year....so don't know what the flowering situation will be like.

Thanks for commenting...By the way....If you like this sort of content, you might enjoy my regular newspaper column in the Sunday Toronto Star. It's called "Wild in the City," and it appears every other Sunday in the Insight section on page 2. It's also online...Yours, WITC/Margaret

Thanks for your comment, Meredith. I think the two-tone squirrel thing might have something to do with moulting. Not totally sure though. Maybe they're the "gingers" of the squirrel world. By the way. You might enjoy reading my column in the Toronto Star...It's called "Wild about the City" and it runs every other Sunday on page 2 of the Insight section of the Toronto Sunday Star.
Thanks again for writing!

We have an indentical squirrel visiting our yard right now. Not sure where she showed up from, but seems not to be frightened of us.

To whom it may concern:

I have a question regarding my flowering raspberry bush...planted it two years ago, last year it was beautiful, grew 5ft, high with lots of flowers. Cut it back but this year it came up everywhere except the main stock.

It's another gorgeous fall day and have to report that at I my daily round to my special peninsula I saw a 'fata morgana' of our beloved swans near the beaver lodge at Ashbridges. For me it was a sight to behold to relive a love scene of Penny and Tycho.Do they ever like and love each other.Doing the identical dance in approaching each other, turn away playfully, and then being so close that the silhouette of their frolicking necks seemingly showed in the form of a heart. Then there was for a moment that Tycho proofed himself in mating.(I know,it's not the season, nevertheless).Margarete, you know it could not be our beauties, yet, this brought back memories of olde lang syne.
I see Tycho rather often. He looks so forlorn.(Or could it be ???)
Only you know.
Feels good to write a few lines to you.Guess, you were pretty much involved in FFIT.
Naturally,I hope that you are feeling well.So do I.Greetings
yours Egon/

Just got caught up to date here. Beautiful photos!
Thanks!
I must confess that I have been 'stepping out' on your menagerie, spending all my time with the eagles in Decorah, Iowa.
They are extremely addictive!
The 3 eaglets are now two weeks old and growing very quickly.
I love their huge clown feet.
Their camera is ice-coated tonight after a long snowstorm today. But all eagles are safe.
